Interiors that tell your story

This is a headshot of Greer Nelson, one of the designers of Oliver Simon Design. She has brunette hair and is wearing a white t-shirt and smiling at the camera.

Playing dress-up in her Shaughnessy bedroom with neighbourhood friends was Greer’s first taste of the power of mixing rich textures, patterns, and colours to create a look, and she was hooked from the start. Her mother, an acclaimed artist, imparted in Greer a deep appreciation for art and design and its capacity to transform. Greer studied interior design at BCIT, graduating in 2003. Over the years, she has harnessed her trademark warm, modern Scandinavian-influenced style to the benefit of Oliver Simon Design’s many appreciative clients.

A detail person, Greer is a true connoisseur of balanced living. She appreciates both the sophistication of Paris (where she honeymooned) and the rustic beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Greer, who lives in Mount Pleasant, also loves morning yoga, quiet cabins, outside naps, and, of course, her family – son, Oliver, and husband, Jonathan. Greer is an exceptionally talented and highly professional designer who embraces every project with focussed enthusiasm, but at heart, she is still the kid who loves playing dress-up.

This is a headshot of Jamie Hamilton, one of the designers of Oliver Simon Design. She has blonde hair and is wearing a blue off-the-shoulder top and is smiling at the camera.

Childhood summers spent barefoot at her grandparents’ ranch in the Cariboo, filled with horses and the sound of aspen leaves rustling in the trees, still inspire the earthy elements in Jamie’s design ethos today. A natural storyteller with razor-sharp wit, Jamie’s social media posts are known for being a little sassy sometimes, but it’s her trademark personalized care that keeps clients calm during major renovations. Jamie, who studied interior design at BCIT and lives in North Vancouver, is drawn to the simple, quiet beauty in small things. She loves vintage portrait paintings, summer nights on Bowen with family, a good before-and-after picture, and, of course, her son, Simon.

While her friends like to tease her about having once been named Miss Surrey, Jamie has travelled far from where she first began. Those travels – from Asia to Europe – have informed her polished-yet-eclectic style, eye for unique pieces, and immense creative spirit.
